Bible translations
Last updated: 30 August 2026
Arise & Shine ships with seven translations. Every one of them is stored on your device, so reading a passage or searching for a verse never sends a request anywhere, and no record of what you read reaches us or anyone else.
We only use translations we are clearly allowed to use. Six of the seven are public domain. The seventh is offered under a Creative Commons licence, credited in full below.

| Bib Sen An (BSA) | 2023 | © 2017–2023 Ron Smith · CC BY-SA 4.0 · eBible.org |
Bib Sen An: Kreyòl Ayisyen, translated by Ron Smith with Felix Nixon, is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. It is the one translation in the app that is not public domain, and its licence asks that the copyright, the licence and a link to it travel with the text — which is why they appear here and in the app.
Changes we have made. The verse text of Bib Sen An is reproduced unaltered. The only difference is presentational: book names in the app follow our own Kreyòl naming (Jan, Matye, Ezayi) so that every screen agrees with the others, rather than the publisher's own headings. No wording of Scripture has been edited.

The same list lives inside Arise & Shine, under Settings › Bible › Bible translations, so the credit for whichever translation you are reading is always a couple of taps away.
