365 Days Without Fear
One Scripture for every day of the year — about fear, courage, peace, and how close God stays when you are afraid.
Some mornings you wake up already carrying something. This is a verse a day for those mornings: about fear, about courage, about peace, and about how close God stays when you are afraid.
Today’s verse is below. Step back or forward a day, save one for later, or share it with someone who needs it this morning. Further down you can search the whole collection or browse it book by book.
After these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.
Genesis 15:1 BSB
Does the Bible really say “do not fear” 365 times?
You have probably seen it somewhere: the Bible tells us not to be afraid 365 times, one for every day of the year. It is a lovely thought. We just could not make the number work. The count moves depending on which translation you read and which phrases you count, and none of them land neatly on 365.
What is true is that Scripture keeps coming back to our fear, and it does it in a lot of different voices. Do not fear. Do not be afraid. Be strong and courageous. Take heart. Trust God. I am with you. Peace I leave with you. Do not be anxious. The theme is everywhere, even where those exact words are not.
So instead of repeating a number we could not check, we did the slower thing. We read, and we chose 287 Scriptures about fear, courage, peace and trust. We are still working toward 365, one for each day. Every verse here was read in context first, because a verse that comforts on its own can mean something quite different where it actually sits.
